In a recent update to Google Maps, Google added 3D graphics to the map & satellite view. If you have a supported browser, (Chrome 14+ or Firefox 8+) then head over to Google Maps and you should see an invitation to enable MapsGL, adapted from WebGL (Web Graphics Library) to introduce these new features.
The new Map features:
- 3D buildings in Map view mode and 45° aerial images
- Smooth transitions between zoom levels and 45° aerial view rotations
- Swoop effect from the map view to Street View imagery
